Our mission is to provide people with medical education, care, and supplies doesn’t end with our offices in Atlanta: it also extends to our neighbors across the world! Dr. Gyebi is the founder of Sankofa Medical Charities, a charitable organization devoted to building partnerships that benefit underserved communities in Africa.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see the communities we work with flourish. As our patients in the United States know, it’s hard to live in abundance when you have a medical condition holding you back. It’s even more difficult when you live in a place with limited access to healthcare!

Our mission is simple: foster partnerships that benefit underserved communities with medical education, care and supplies.
So what does this look like?
Ambulances
Ambulances are a crucial part of medical transportation, but they are often not an option in underserved communities. The ambulances we donate ensure regional hospitals have safe and effective means to move patients quickly. An ambulance can mean the difference between life and death for some health issues and in many circumstances.
Equipment
Underserved hospitals often lack necessary medical equipment. We can help! We provide beds, ultrasound machines, dialysis machines, and more, as well as computers to improve medical record keeping. It’s hard to keep a hospital running smoothly without the right equipment. A well-equipped hospital means more accurate diagnoses and less waiting time for patients.
Education
We offer scholarships and financial support to empower youth seeking education in health sciences and chronic disease prevention. It’s an investment in future community leaders. When they’re able to improve their knowledge, they’ll create lasting change in their communities for generations to come.
Malaria Prevention
Prevention is the best cure! Malaria is a major problem in the communities we partner with. We donate insecticide-treated nets, antimalarial drugs, indoor residual spraying agents, and more to minimize the deadly impact malaria has on children, families, and communities.
Medical Testing
We equip clinics to offer tests including complete blood counts and comprehensive metabolic panels to monitor kidney and liver functions, fluid levels, electrolytes, and other key diagnostic indicators for patients at risk.
History
Leonard Gyebi, M.D. is the Founder, President and CEO of Peachtree Kidney and Hypertension Specialist Group, as well as Peachtree Kidney Dialysis and Spa Services of Atlanta.
He is also the Founder of Sankofa Medical Charities, inspired by the desire to bring accessible medical care to those around the world, not just in Atlanta.
